My Quest for a CCNA Diploma
I’m just back from being out with the boys, having a few beers and shooting the breeze.
I’m a bit excited to be honest, because that one guy with us tonight, he passed the CCNA tests and says his employer gave him a nice fat raise because of it.
I’ve always frowned on these diploma courses, because any real tech guy knows you just dig in and figure stuff out.
Hearing this guy talk about his CCNA salary is making me rethink this idea of mine, and maybe it would be worth going for a Cisco certificate.
I’ll have to put some feelers out tomorrow and see if my company is willing to adjust my pay if I get Cisco certified. Even if they do, I bet there is a company here in town that would appreciate that kind of commitment to bettering themselves, and give me a nice offer to propel me up the corporate ladder.
I’m not really all that greedy, but an extra 10 grand a year, who wouldn’t accept that?
